Next Friday and Saturday, I'll be in Kingston with Adina for the 2004 MPA Policy Forum and Donald Gow Lecture [pdf]. The keynote lecture will be given by David Miller, Mayor of the City of Toronto. I'm looking forward to the conference: I don't know much about cities and I expect to learn a lot about them. I haven't arranged accommodations yet. Any suggestions? I'm cheap.

April 24th, 2004spam update: 229 caught in 7 days
April 21st, 2004Mail.app filtered 229 spam messages into my Junk mail folder in the past seven days. That's actually a lot less than I thought it would be. Interesting. Stupid spammers.
my final undergraduate exam
April 21st, 2004I've closed my final University of Waterloo examination booklet and I've finished all of my coursework. Next, moving; then, golfing; then, decision re: graduate school; then, marriage; then, . . . who knows.
I'm planning to write a few reflective essays on my time at University of Waterloo. Stay tuned for more than you ever wanted to know about studying English at UW, Imprint, Feds, Senate and uwstudent.org.
See this press release for the likelihood that I'll do exactly what I said in the preceding paragraph.
counting spam
April 14th, 2004My mail client (Mail.app for OS X) is pretty good at sorting junk mail into my junk mail folder. I just deleted the contents of that folder (without reviewing it) and will post updates as the spam collects. There is a lot of it but I'm not sure how much. I want to know the rate of spamation.
ibook back in action
April 12th, 2004I picked my iBook up from First Avenue today. Second logic board replacement since July 2002 (under warranty). More later.
accepted to Queen’s
April 6th, 2004Queen's apparently sees me differently from Carleton. I received my offer of admission to the MPA program offered by the School of Policy Studies at Queen's. I'm still waiting to hear back from Dalhousie.
Sweet.
final day of classes
April 1st, 2004Weird. It just sort of snuck up on me. One paper, three finals and my thesis left to go.
no internet access at home
April 1st, 2004No more internet access at my house. So you'll catch me on campus a lot more now. This entry posted from the UW Dana Porter Library.
motion to remove me from council
March 29th, 2004Brandon Sweet informed me today that there will be a motion to remove me from council because of my two unexcused absences this year (one in January (I was in Ottawa doing fun stuff) and one in March (I totally forgot about the meeting)). I should be removed. I think I'll ask to move the motion to the end of the agenda, however. That way I can be a councillor until (almost) the end of the meeting.
i smell a refund…
