Neal Moogk-Soulis is running for Arts Senate. I'm the current Arts Senator. Here's his statement on feds.ca:
If elected as senator I would do my best to look out for the best interests of students. Lately the university has struggled with ways to increase the quality of your education without stretching the resources that it has. I would make sure that undergraduate students are not asked to shoulder more of this burden than necessary. Students come to a university to gain an education in preparation for life. They should not be expected to shoulder unreasonable financial burdens or academic workloads. As a senator I would keep the interests of students foremost in my mind.
My summary: "Things suck. I'll try hard to make sure that they suck as little as possible." Really, it's about all you can say when you're campaigning for Arts Senate. You're one of 90 senators and you're a part-time volunteer with little experience. If elected, Neal should work closely with Arts faculty senators and others to stop ideas that are bad for the Arts faculty. If the current funding situation continues or worsens, such ideas are likely.

Represent all Arts undergraduate students on the University Senate. Inform the Senate about student issues. Express student opinion to the Senate. Participate in Senate discussion and on Senate committees. Vote on all Senate issues.
